Sadhu Taracharan Paramhamsa was fondly called ‘Sadhubaba’ by his devotees. He was the foremost ‘siddha’ purusha of his time. He was Shiva incarnate and a sadhu par excellence. ‘He had uttered once – “I am the avatar of the four Yugas”. He preached Truth and ‘Brahmacharya’ as the pillars of ‘sadhana'(spiritual practice), leading to God-realization that he himself staunchly practiced. He was an ardent devotee of the great Goddess Kali, whom he called ‘Maa'(the universal mother). He was a mentor, a protector, and a guide to all his devotees. He loved the poor and the needy most and shed tears beseeching ‘Maa’ to alleviate their sufferings. He himself suffered tremendously for the welfare of his Devotees.

He left his mortal frame in 1948, yet his devotees feel his presence even now. He had said that he forever remains with his devotees protecting them at all times. He has made his presence felt many times through his many miracles.

He was a ‘jeevan mukta’ mahapurusha. He took birth of his own will to liberate his devotees. He never made any disciples, but he took his ardent devotees across the ocean of ‘samsara’ by his grace. He only asked that one be honest and truthful. The cardinal principle of his Sadhana is expressed in the following two lines.

“One who has Brahmacharya and Truthfulness, No other type of Sadhana he requires.”
